The Astral Timeline

Founded in 1972, Astral began to produce some of the best steel burial caskets offered in the United States.  Today, Astral offers a full range of caskets in metal, solid wood, engineered and veneer wood, as well as cremation caskets.  Over the years, Astral has gained a reputation for balancing quality, service, and price.  We provide great value to those who select our caskets.

In June 2019, The Wilbert Group acquired Astral Industries, Astral Carrier, and other Astral companies to strengthen its casket distribution entity, Signet Supply, which the company formed in 2009.

In December 2020, The Wilbert Group expanded its casket division with additional investment into funeral service when it acquired Hoffman Burial Supplies, Inc., located in Peoria, Illinois. Founded in 1952, Hoffman quickly grew to an iconic brand in the mid-west with a rich history of top-quality caskets, unsurpassed customer service, and great value.

In October 2021, The Wilbert Group announced another exciting acquisition of Continental Casket Company, located in Watseka, Illinois. An established regional distributor of metal and wood caskets with three warehouses serving funeral professionals in Illinois and areas of Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, and Missouri. Overall the Continental investment demonstrates the ongoing support and commitment Wilbert continues to make in its growth strategy benefiting funeral professionals and the families they serve.

Astral Celebrates 50 Years WITH NEW PRODUCTS AND COMPLEMENTARY COMPANIES

Wilbert celebrates the 50th anniversary of Astral, the respected casket company that joined The Wilbert Group of brands in 2019. Astral may be half a century old, but one thing’s for sure: They’ve spent most of those 50 years (and definitely the last three) continually improving by innovating their products and streamlining their processes.
